There will be a free talk and slide presentation by Greenwich resident, Mary Gibbons, ICEHOTEL designer, photographer and author of the definitive book on the ICEHOTEL. Gibbons will talk about her work at Sweden’s annual ICEHOTEL, which is built every year out of snow and ice just north of the Arctic Circle.

“I loved snow storms as a child and couldn’t wait to get out there and build something… anything. I have always loved going out for long distance walks on winter nights,” Gibbons said.

That interest led her to study architecture at SUNY Buffalo, while trying out for the first women’s American Olympic luge team in 1976.

Gibbons insists each cold weather location & experience has increased her passion for ice and snow creations.  Mary Gibbons presentation and slide show will take the audience through the journey from the ice formation to the completed hotel, made totally of ice. This is a presentation not to be missed! Coffee reception to follow presentation.

FREE to attend – RSVP required to reserve a seat call (203) 869-2046.
