Abilis will be staffing and managing the concession stand, serving up favorites such as burgers, fries, hot dogs and lots of frozen treats and refreshing drinks and snacks. The Island Beach Concession Stand opens to the public on Saturday, June 8.

“We are really excited to be back for our fourth summer managing and staffing the Island Beach Concession stand,” said Amy Montimurro, CEO and president of Abilis. “The opportunity to serve the community while providing a meaningful and inclusive employment is a huge win for everyone involved. Our Abilis community members love taking the ferry out to Island Beach to work at the concession stand, prepare the food, interact with co-workers and serve the customers with support from the Abilis job coaches. It’s a wonderful way to spend the summer and we are so happy the Town and the community have put their faith and business with Abilis to run the stand.”

The concession stand offers beach favorites like hot dogs, hamburgers/cheeseburgers, french fries, chicken strips, Mac bites, sandwiches, salads, wraps, bagels and baked goods and of course a variety of ice cream, popsicles and candy. Beach visitors can also find picnic items like BBQ charcoal, sand buckets, shovels, toys and more. The Island Beach Concession Stand is open seven days a week June 8 through August 31 and then on weekends in September through September 15.

The Island Beach Concession stand closes each day 30-minutes before the last ferry leaves for Greenwich Harbor.
