Second Congregational Church Announces Christmas Eve Services

On Christmas Eve at 3:30 pm, Second Congregational Church of Greenwich (located at 139 East Putnam Avenue in Greenwich) will hold a no rehearsal children’s Christmas Pageant. All children and parents, family and friends visiting are welcome!  If you would like to participate in the pageant, please arrive by 2:30 pm to receive a costume. There will be hot cocoa.

Senior Minister Maxwell Grant says, “This year, it seems as if many families got started earlier with Christmas, decorating the house, putting up the tree, getting going on their list of favorite Christmas movies.  Maybe we need that ‘Christmas energy’ a little more than usual.  It’s such a gift for our church to share what that energy is really about: the light that shines in darkness.”

At 6:30 pm the church will celebrate its traditional service in the Sanctuary with hymns, a message from the pastor, and prayers for the season.

Music Director Alexander Constantine will be joined by a brass quartet and other soloists.  The service will also be available on the church’s YouTube channel, @2ccGreenwich.

Finally, at 11:00 pm, the church will hold its traditional Candlelight service with Holy Communion, concluding with congregational singing of “Silent Night” at midnight under the shadow of the church tower.

There is ample parking on campus.

We encourage any who are seeking God during this special time of the year to join us for any of the above services. All are welcome!
