The Cemetery has six Revolutionary War and several other patriots from other wars buried there.

The ceremony is an offshoot of the Arlington National Cemetery laying of wreaths on veterans graves and the Tomb of the Unknown Monument at noon on this date.

Ceremonies were held simultaneously throughout every state across America to commemorate those veterans who sacrificed their lives for our country.

The Putnam Hill DAR had numerous veteran events this year including honoring Carl White with the DAR Outstanding Veteran Award, placing flags with veterans on Veterans Day at veteran gravesites, and conducting a Christmas present drive for Homes for the Brave with cards.

Anyone wishing to join the chapter who might trace back to a possible patriot is encouraged as lineage help can be given please email [email protected].
