Grand Marshal for 47th Annual St. Patrick’s Parade Announced by Greenwich Hibernian Association

Kevin McFadden will be installed as the Grand Marshal of the 47th annual Greenwich St. Patrick’s Parade by the Greenwich Hibernian Association on Saturday evening, March 4, at the organization’s annual St. Patrick’s dinner dance.

The Parade will be held on Sunday March 19, at 2:00pm.

Mr. McFadden was born in Greenwich, the son of Francis P. and Pearl McFadden. His grandparents Michael McFadden of Dunfanaghy, County Donegal, Ireland and Anne E. O’Neill McFadden of Dumbarton, Scotland came to America in 1929 and settled in Greenwich where they raised five children and were active members of St. Mary parish. Kevin attended Catholic school in Greenwich from kindergarten through 12th grade at Greenwich Catholic School and St Mary High School. He then attended Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. Kevin is a member of St. Paul’s Parish in Greenwich.

In June of 1992, Kevin was hired by the New York City Police Department. He spent 17 years at the 32nd Police Precinct in Harlem and finished his career assigned to Patrol Manhattan North Operations Unit. After a 28 year career with the NYPD Kevin retired in September of 2020. In his retirement Kevin works private security for Morgan Stanley.

Mr. McFadden and members of his family have served the community as firefighters for many years. His father and three uncles were active volunteers with the central Greenwich station with both his father and his uncle Michael McFadden serving as District Chiefs. Since 1990, Kevin has been a member of the Washington Engine and Hose of the Port Chester Fire Department where he has served in various parliamentary and line officer positions. He served as Chief Engineer of the Port Chester Fire Department in 2011 and 2012 and remains an active firefighter. Kevin is co-chair of the department’s 200th anniversary celebration taking place this year.

Kevin McFadden is an active member of the Knights of Columbus Orinoco Council #39 of Greenwich where he served as Grand Knight and where he has volunteered many hours serving its charitable mission. He takes particular pride in having chaired the annual Christmas luncheon the goal of which is to provide a celebration for those who might otherwise spend the day alone. The luncheon serves about 80 people at the Knight’s Hall and delivers to over 100 homebound individuals. Kevin is also a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Assembly #39.

Kevin is an active member of the Westchester County Football Officials Association and referees at all levels of football from youth to high school.

Kevin and his wife, Danielle Marino McFadden have two children, Justin, a senior at Rochester Institute of Technology and Maryn, a freshman at Pace University.
