Independence Day Flag Raising at Greenwich Town Hall Set for July 4, 2018

Screen Shot 2016-07-04 at 3.16.46 PMJoin the Independence Day Association of Greenwich in raising the first American flag to celebrate Independence Day at 9:00am on July 4 at Greenwich Town Hall.

Watch Greenwich Scouts parade the flags of the 13 Colonies. Discover the history of Greenwich during the American Revolution. Honor Greenwich citizens who are descendants of the early settlers of Greenwich.  Salute patriots who served in the cause of the American Revolution. Discover the hidden history of Greenwich during the colonial period.

There will be a tribute to veterans and a Greenwich girl’s memoir of World War I.

Also, “Good Citizen” winners from Greenwich public and private schools will be recognized.

The guest speaker is Missy Wolfe author of Hidden History of Colonial Greenwich.

Refreshments will be served inside Town Hall following the ceremony.

The Town of Greenwich Fireworks Displays date is set for Saturday, July 7 with a rain date of Sunday, July 8. The displays commence at dusk.
