Beyond the Parades: Volunteers Sought to Place Flags on Graves of Military Veterans

On Tuesday May 24th from 5:00 pm to 6:00pm,  help is needed to place flags on the graves of military veterans.

The Greenwich Scouts will assemble at the entrance to Putnam Cemetery (entrance is at the intersection of Parsonage Rd and Ridgeview Ave.) to go over the proper placement of the flags.

They will work through Putnam Cemetery and then proceed to St. Mary’s Cemetery with members of the American Legion and Volunteers from the fire department.

Greenwich Scouts anticipate that if they get enough help, it will take only about 1-1/2 hours.

“This is a great opportunity to honor those who have served,” said Heather Lowthert, Program Director for Greenwich Scouting. ” Anyone willing to help is welcome.” Scouts are reminded to wear full Scout uniform for the project.

Contact day of event: Mr. Steve Fransfort 203-622-1506 who will be on site at 4:30pm.
