Clear skies and comfortable temperatures made Saturday night’s Friends of the Byram Shubert Library’s Annual Tree Lighting and Open House even more special than usual.

Partygoers’ jingle bell necklaces provided a cheerful background to the beautiful voices of Greenwich High School students Abigail O’Keefe, Melissa Fraioli and Dara Holmberg as they began the event with “Silent Night” and “Silver Bells.”

Everyone joined in for a round of familiar Christmas carols.  A special visitor from northern climes arrived in a golf cart and the tree was lit for the season!

Inside the library there was fun for everyone.  Favorite foods from the faraway homelands of neighborhood residents covered the buffet tables.  Children enjoyed making a holiday picture frame – and visiting with a familiar red-clad figure.  Bob Leinbach provided holiday music.

The diversity that makes the western end of town so special was much in evidence as guests from nine months to ninety shared the holiday spirit.  The Friends of the Byram Shubert Library would like to thank everyone who contributed the festive food and holiday spirit to make the evening a success.
