Greenwich’s Annual Paper Shredding Day is Set for Saturday, October 5

Greenwich’s annual paper shredding event is set for Saturday, Oct 5, 2024 in the Island Beach parking lot.

Paper Shredding has several positive outcomes. Sensitive and personal documents will be properly destroyed and the shreds will be recycled, thus saving trees and aiding in climate control.

Shred your sensitive documents on October 5 between 9:30am and 12:00 noon.

Maximum of 5 boxes per car.

Box size should be similar to a case of wine.

Cost per box is $3 cash.

Please follow a few simple rules to make shredding easy. All paper must be in rigid or cardboard boxes. Organizers cannot accept paper in any type of bag. Please remove bindings, metal clips and plastic covers from documents. Only paper will be shredded.

You may also drop off unopened food and toiletry items for Neighbor to Neighbor.

Most needed are tuna, peanut butter, cheerios, toothpaste, deodorant.

This event is organized by Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board and Greenwich Green & Clean, and organized by The First Bank of Greenwich and Santaguida Sanitation.

Volunteers from RMA and Boys & Girls Club will be on hand to help direct traffic and lift boxes from the trunk of your car.
