Greenwich Youth Conservation Summer Job Experience Program Accepting Applications

The Greenwich Youth Conservation Program is currently accepting applications from 14- and 15-year-old Greenwich residents for its summer program.

The GYCP is a unique “learn and earn” program administered by the Town Dept of Human Services and Parks & Recreation.

Since 1978, GYCP’s mission has been to develop the potential of young Greenwich teens as they improve Greenwich’s green spaces. Participants have a summer job experience – complete with a supervisor and co-workers – and participate in skills training on topics such as personal budget management, resume writing and teen decision-making.

GYCP is open to students who attend either a Greenwich public school and/or Greenwich resident. There are 112 spots available.

GYCP teens plant trees and perform other important conservation work in parks and nature preserves throughout Greenwich. Local sponsors and donors make it possible for each teen to receive a $275 stipend for their work.

Any Greenwich resident ages 14-15 may apply.

Applications may be accessed by clicking here.

The deadline for applications is April 26.

If you’d like to learn more about the GYCP, please contact Christina Nappi, Program Administrator, at (203) 622-7792 or [email protected].
