Rain couldn’t keep these Greenwich Scouts from grinning ear to ear as they anticipated their departure for the 2023 Boy Scouts of America National Jamboree!
Held about every four years, the Jamboree or “Jambo” for short, welcomes scouts from across the country to Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia.
Activities offered at the reserve range from white water rafting, to hiking, biking, and more. This is an amazing experience for the boys, allowing them to earn many merit badges and make lasting memories.
After the Greenwich troop departs, their journey will begin with a pit stop at Hershey Park in Pennsylvania for a fun-filled day before heading down to the Jambo.
This is Chief Jim Heavey’s fourth Jamboree as troop leader and he is excited to share this experience with these scouts.
For parents, it will be a long two weeks without their children at home. But the minute their scouts return, they will surely be greeted with countless stories and lots of laughter.
