Greenwich Ferries and Byram Pool Open June 29

On Monday, June 29 the Greenwich pool at Byram Park will open and ferry boats will start to run to Island Beach and Great Captain’s Island.

The ferry will run with reduced capacity as will the pool, which typically allows 250 people at a time, but will be limited to 100.

Pool Rules

The pool will open daily at 7:00am. The hours for the main pool are 11:00am to 7:00pm. The Pool information hotline is (203) 861-3170.

Single entry and parking passes will not be sold until further notice. Playgrounds Pavilions and clambake area remain closed.

Maximum capacity is 150 vehicles. To avoid overcrowding and to allow others to enjoy the park, there is a suggested visit time of two yours The concession stand is open, weather permitting.

Ferry rules.

Social distancing of at least 6 feet must be maintained at all times when on the property including but not limited to the ferry dock, ferry, Island Beach and the parking lot. Everyone must have a cloth face covering or higher level of protection whenever close contact is unavoidable while using the ferry and Island facilities. Also, ferry passengers must show their 2019-20 park pass or driver’s license with a Greenwich Address.

Effective July 6, renewed 2020 par passes will be required for all residents.

Ferry passengers must follow onsite posted instructions and instructions from boat crew regarding boarding and disembarking the vessel.

Ferries will run at a reduced capacity – please consider the reduced capacity when planning your return trip.

Outbound trips to Island Beach may be modified upon reaching maximum capacity.

Concessions, showers and water fountains remain closed.

Swimming is only permitted in the designated areas and the Greenwich Police and town personnel will be monitoring for rule compliance.

Residents should plan ahead as there will be reduced capacity on all ferries so that social distancing protocols can be followed. Please bring a face mask not only for your protection but for that of your fellow Town residents and for Town employees.

“Cruise to Nowhere” passengers will be limited to 20 people. Passengers may purchase a maximum of two tickets per person.
