Greenwich Botanical Center to Host 58th May Gardeners Market

The 58th May Gardeners Market is scheduled for Saturday, May 4 from 9:00 am until 2:00pm in the Montgomery Pinetum.

No parking is available on site, but a shuttle will be provided from the Cos Cob School (300 E Putnam Ave).

Fifteen garden and home accessory dealers will be featured.

Funds raised will benefit Senior Outreach at Greenwich Botanical Center.

The Greenwich Botanical Center has been providing Outreach projects to several local Senior facilities since 1992. With the help of the Horticulture Building volunteers, the Greenwich Botanical Center provides horticultural outreach activities to 150 participants from October to March. The goal of this program is to promote wellness, education, and engagement for our community.

Greenwich Botanical Center currently provides programs for The Mews, Greenwich Senior Center, The Nathaniel Witherell, Pathways and Greenwich Adult Day Center.

“We are thrilled to feature favorite perennial vendor McCue Gardens with their specialty wildflowers and native plants, alongside Moorefield Farm’s herbs and interesting succulents,” said Greenwich Botanical Center Horticulture Director, Lisa Beebe.

Many of the dealers have been exhibiting at MGM year after year. Showcased will be Birdhouse Broker, handmade birdhouses; Marvin Gardens, garden accessories; Seven Barrels, infused olive oil and balsamic vinegar; Smith Acres; Earth Rhythms Jewelry; and Young Living Essential Oils. Lunch will be available through Empanadas On The Go, and there will be a Cotton Candy Vendor as well as Lulu’s Southern Pies.

Several free activities have been added for enjoyment throughout the day:

• Looking into the Beehive at 11:00am and 1:00pm

• Qigong with Donna Bune at 10:30am and 12:0pm

• Nature Crafts (ongoing in the lower classroom of the main building)

Volunteers and Master Gardeners will be on hand with expert advice. May Gardeners Market continues to thrive as a popular community event for Greenwich residents and draws many others from throughout Fairfield and Westchester County.
