The Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol to Honor Greenwich’s Sabrina Pray Forsythe at Annual Benefit

The Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol, Inc, “The Patrol” will host its 2020 benefit in support of this  all-volunteer agency celebrating 93 years of service to the Town of Greenwich.

Please join the Patrol on Friday, March 27, 2020, 7:00pm at Greenwich Water Club, 49 River Rd in Cos Cob to honor Greenwich business woman, volunteer and philanthropist, Sabrina Pray Forsythe.

Forsythe will be presented with Chief’s Award for her dedicated service to First Responders, Veterans, the Town of Greenwich and her support of The Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol, Inc.

“There are so many incredible men and women in our town with whom I share this honor. The many committees I have served on are filled with people who are dedicated to making Greenwich a better place to live. I am blessed to have made so many friends and colleagues, and I sincerely enjoy giving back to my community,” said Forsythe.  “I am humbled and honored. Giving back is the best part, and volunteers make all of the difference in our community.  There is no better recognition than one that is for the work you do in giving back to your community.”

Greenwich is such a dynamic and strong community. Past recipients of the Chief’s Award include First Selectman Fred Camillo, former Selectman Paul Hicks, former First Selectman Peter Tesei, notable baseball manager and Stamford Emergency Services Director, Bobby Valentine, and Greenwich business leader Rick Kral.

Fun Night for an Important Cause
The event will feature DJ Marvin Myers and a silent auction, featuring several one-of-a-kind items and experiences. In addition, guests can purchase items from the Wish List, a list of equipment and gear crucial to the operation of The Patrol.

 Protecting the Residents of Greenwich
The Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol, Inc. is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization dedicated to protecting the residents of the Town of Greenwich since 1927. The Patrol provides a broad spectrum of services to residents and first responders including firefighting, salvage operations, traffic and scene control at emergencies. One of the few remaining nationwide organizations which specialize in the art of salvage work, The Patrol specially trains its members to protect valuable personal property, inside of a home or business that could otherwise be destroyed due to fire, water or smoke damage. The Patrol proudly serves the entire town of Greenwich, and is under the command of its own Chief.

Last year, The Patrol responded to over 1,000 emergency calls. The Patrol’s dedicated members are volunteers who train and donate their time solely out of love for what they do. Each of the 25 service members of The Patrol must train for over 100 hours to qualify for their part in the organization. Members of the Patrol are a diverse group of men and women from many professions. In addition to service members, the associate, honorary and veteran members volunteered over 5,000 hours to the Town and its citizens through community outreach, support, meetings and training in 2019 alone. They don’t stop. Whether it is learning or giving of themselves to the community, members of The Patrol are dedicated to serving the needs of the citizens of the Town of Greenwich.

“As an associate member of the Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol I have first-hand experience in seeing the dedication to community and to service that the Patrol members have. As I worked to garner support in Hartford for my bill providing legislative protections for the members, it became very apparent to my legislative colleagues that the Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol is indeed one of the best companies in the nation” said Fred Camillo, Greenwich First Selectman. “We are truly blessed to have these volunteers who are ready to roll out whenever needed, 24/7.”
