Riverside School kindergartener Kai Briggs, 6, who is in Ms Cullen’s class, has been feeling badly about what people were going through during this difficult time of the pandemic, and asked his dad if they could run a food drive.
After getting the green light from the principal, Kai set up boxes outside Riverside school on Tuesday. He will be there on Wednesday from 9:00am to 3:00pm as well.
On Tuesday afternoon, Kai, who said thank you to each person who donated food said he’d run out of boxes to hold all the donations.
He’s looking for donations of non-perishable goods which he will donate to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County.
“I wanted to help people,” Kai explained. “Because of the pandemic. People are losing jobs and meals.”
