Fresh air, frogs, and friendships are just some of what’s waiting to be discovered in the hills, streams, and forest of the Audubon Center in Greenwich. Seven miles of trails across 285 acres of wildlife sanctuary provide endless chances to learn and play in an environment that teaches through exploration. Children entering grades K-5 participate in themed camp sessions, including Backwoods Explorers and Aquatic Adventures.
Campers entering grades 6-9 can join our specialty camps: Wilderness Survival, Nature Animation, and our off-site Ecology Adventures camp, during which campers take daily field trips to forests, beaches, and other areas with experienced naturalists. Cardinal Baseball Camp will be in session at Greenwich High School for its 17th consecutive summer. Greenwich High School Head Baseball Coach Mike Mora and his staff provide a fun learning environment, while stressing the fundamentals of baseball.
Skills and drills begin at 9:00am and a game is played daily from 10:45-12:00noon when campers are to be picked up.
Camp dates are July 8th-August 2nd , Monday-Friday. Pricing and more information can be found at www.cardinalbaseballcamp.com or by calling 203-869-3736.
On a daily basis, campers receive instruction in how to throw with the proper form. Proper catching tips are given at this time as well. Coach Mora believes that “Throwing and catching are the most important parts of the game at any level of baseball. If players can throw the ball where they want to, without hurting themselves, they have given themselves the chance to be very successful.”
During the skills stations, campers are taught the finer points of the game. The campers rotate through stations such as: pitching, base-running, catching, infield, outfield, hitting, and bunting. Some days this time is spent on infield/outfield practice when the campers learn where to throw the ball during certain key game situations.
The staff makes groups for their games according to ability.
Camper’s safety comes first! Coaches pitch to the campers for safety reasons. Many campers are in the middle of their summer season and we do not want them wearing out their arm at camp.
Staff to camper ratio varies by age group but averages 1 staff per every 5 campers to ensure a safe, fun, and instructional learning environment. Our goal is to have campers learn to love the game of baseball.

Combat the summer slide and give your child a back-to-school jump-start with ICC STEM Camp at the beautiful Audubon Greenwich. ICC STEM Camp is offering a new math and robotics curriculum and introducing games from the Indian subcontinent. Kids will dive into probability through game play. For example, younger campers will tally the frequency of outcomes during games while older kids will be challenged to consider the probability of outcomes weighted against opponent strategies.
Building off First’s programs that teach kids how to translate STEM concepts into practical applications, campers will learn coding and robotic principals through hands-on experience. Campers will also develop a connection to India by learning popular Indian games such as cricket, Carrom, Kho Kho, and Hopscotch.
Small group learning is central to ICC’s STEM Camp experience. ICC interviews and recruits top-notch high school interns who support experienced classroom teachers. If you have older children in grades 6 and 7, they will have the opportunity to mentor younger campers.
