Update: Former Greenwich High School Homecoming Princess to Star on ABC’s Modern Family

Tina Arning UPDATE: The airing of the episode is now changed to a tentative date of Feb. 17.

Tina Arning, the former Greenwich High School Homecoming Princess turned actress, will appear as a guest star on the hit comedy Modern Family on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 9:00pm on ABC.

Arning will share the screen opposite Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell in episode #7.12 titled “Thunk in the Trunk,” directed by television and film director, Phill Traill.

In this episode, Claire has a new career challenge which affects her relationship with Phil. Arning will play the role of Tanya, who is the wife of one of Claire’s colleagues.

Arning is best known for the role of ‘Angelina’ on CBS’s comedy Everybody Loves Raymond and ‘Sasha Green’ on CBS’s Daytime Emmy-winning soap opera The Young and The Restless.  She has worked with some of the biggest names in television including, Jeffrey Tambor, Ray Romano, Kelsey Grammer, Maura Tierney, Patricia Heaton, Brad Garrett, Sherri Shepherd, Ryan Reynolds, Nathan Fillion, Peter Boyle, Doris Roberts, Gabriel Byrne, Paul Mazursky, Dave Foley and the late Phil Hartman.

Arning took a ten year hiatus from television and film to raise three children with her husband, internet entrepreneur Jason Brazell.  However, she was very active in theatre and won the Indy Award for “Best Actress” for her role as ‘Maggie the Cat’ in Tennessee William’s classic Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in Santa Barbara,CA.

Charles Donelan, Theatre Critic for the Santa Barbara Independent, raved, “Tina Arning sizzles as Magge the Cat…an ‘actor’s actor’…[Arning’s] nuance, musically and commanding performances set the stage for this powerful production.”  Palisadian Post wrote, “Arning stands out whenever she appears…displaying incredible range…”
