Come to a Horseshoe Crab Celebration at Tod’s Point

The Conservation Commission and Friends of Greenwich Point present a Horseshoe Crab Celebration on Thursday, June 20.

The event runs from 10:00am to 12:00 noon at Greenwich Point Yacht Club area.

There will be a guided beach walk to count and tag Horseshoe Crabs, while celebrating and educating about the importance of this prehistoric species that lives right here in Long Island Sound.

Members of the Conservation Commission will explain how the number of horseshoe crabs along the shore are counted during several high tides in June. Some horseshoe crabs are tagged for further monitoring.

Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting wet.

Rain boots and waders are recommended.
