Christ Church to Host Talk: What Does a Good Life Actually Look Like?

Christ Church Greenwich is hosting a talk about Happiness this Sunday.

Dr. Robert Waldinger, Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital will lead the talk, entitled, “What Does a Good Life Actually Look Like? Lessons from a Harvard Study of Human Life.”

Work out daily? OK, but how socially fit are you? Can Money Buy Happiness? How Much Does It Cost? Why is Family Important?

When we cut through all the cultural hype about happiness, what actually makes a good life? For more than two decades  Waldinger has explored this question as director of the Harvard Study of Adult Development, one of the only studies in history to track the same people from adolescence into their 90s.

Using rigorous scientific methods and tracking 724 families over 85 years, he has examined what really makes people thrive. They have found that the breadth and depth of our relationships are keys to wellbeing and physical health.

Professor Waldinger is the director of the Harvard Study of Adult Development, author, and Zen Priest. This study is one of the most comprehensive longitudinal studies in history that tracks the same people from adolescence into their 90s. Waldinger has unprecedented access to data on true happiness and satisfaction in human life.

This Sunday, Dec 10 starting at 11:15 am, he will discuss his book, The Good Life, which shows us how we can make our lives happier and more meaningful through our connections to others.

His TEDx talk on this subject has received nearly 44 million views. Join Robert Waldinger and Christ Church Greenwich in this enriching journey of discovery, where teaching and discussion become conduits for personal growth and mutual enlightenment.

The event is free and will be in Christ Church Greenwich Parish Hall at 254 East Putnam Ave in Greenwich.
