Christ Church to Host Men’s Breakfast: “What It Means to be a Man of Faith in Today’s World”

Christ Church is hosting a Men’s Breakfast with the Rev. Terry Elsberry, titled, “What It Means to be a Man of Faith in Today’s World.”

The event is Saturday, January 28, at 8:30 am. Admission is free but you are asked to RSVP. The talk is at Tomes-Higgins House (on the Christ Church campus) at 216 East Putnam Ave in Greenwich.

There’s some conjecture these days about what it means to be a man. Traditional ideas of manhood are being challenged, and not always with positive results. We feel great pressure to have the courage to stand up for what is right and to be a leader and role model in the face of adversity. We know we need to have the strength to take responsibility for one’s actions and be accountable for the decisions we make but it is hard to shoulder all that responsibility alone.

Our culture greatly needs men who will live lives according to Christian principles. We can make a real difference.

The Rev. Terry Elsberry will discuss God’s guidelines for how to be His men now, to have humility to recognize one’s own limitations and seek help when we need it – from scripture, from God, and from each other. Especially today, we must have the compassion to understand and empathize with others, and be a source of support and comfort when needed.

All men are invited to join Terry in this important conversation. Bring a friend.
