Christ Church Greenwich Free Sunday Forum: Prof. Bruce Gordon, “The Global Bible: Why Do Christians in the West Need to Listen More and Talk Less?”

Christ Church Greenwich announced a free Sunday Forum on September 14 featuring Professor Bruce Gordon, The Titus Street Professor of Ecclesiastical History at Yale Divinity School.

Professor Gordon will give a talk titled, “The Global Bible: Why Do Christians in the West Need to Listen More and Talk Less?”

The free Sunday Forum, starts at 11:15am in Parish Hall. Free coffee, breakfast and conversation.

Christianity is growing exponentially around the world and in the United States. In Europe and the United States, Christians must respect the ancient tradition of the Bible as a shared, living dialogue—and recognize that it does not belong to them alone. We have a lot to learn and need to listen to how other churches are interpreting the Bible especially in Central and South America, Africa, and Asia, where it is read, heard, and lived outside the assumptions of the West.
