Christ Church Courage & Faith to Present Fr. James Martin, Bestselling Author and One of the Most Influential Christian Leaders in the World

Christ Church’s Courage & Faith Speaker Series will present Fr. James Martin, S.J., New York Times Bestselling Author and One of the Most Influential Christian Leaders in the World. He will talk about his new book, “Work in Progress: Confessions of a Busboy, Dishwasher, Caddy, Usher, Factory Worker, Bank teller, Corporate Tool, and Priest” on Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm.

Courage & Faith Speaker Series offers a rare chance to hear the globally renowned Fr. James Martin tell his story in his own words—honest, funny, searching, and deeply faithful. He began his career in the finance world in NYC when he found his calling and has spent an impactful life as one of the most trusted public voices for the Catholic Church.

This is a unique opportunity to witness this special moment live and in-person.

A Jesuit priest, he has worked in global outreach programs and hospitals caring for the sick and dying. He is an author or editor of more than 30 books and served as ABC News lead Vatican and conclave commentator for the election of Pope Francis, Pope Francis’s funeral, and the 2025 conclave that elected Pope Leo XIV.  He is a Vatican consultor and voting member of the Synod of Bishops in Rome (2021–2024), personally appointed by Pope Francis.

Fr. Martin has appeared on ABC “Good Morning America,” PBS “Newshour,” Fox News Channel “The O’Reilly Factor,” NPR, PBS, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, BBC, and more, bringing faith into the national conversation with warmth, intelligence, and clarity. In 2025, FR. Martin launched his podcast The Spiritual Life, featuring intimate conversations with Stephen Colbert, Whoopi Goldberg, Pete Buttigieg, Brené Brown, and others about prayer, meaning, and how they experience God in daily life.

Courage and Faith Speaker Series is a collaboration between Christ Church Greenwich and St. Barnabas Episcopal Church.

Through thought-provoking conversations, artistic performances, and immersive spiritual experiences, this series aims to inspire, challenge, and equip individuals to live out their faith with courage and purpose in today’s complex world.
