Temple Sholom’s Challah Bake on August 7 was just one of many programming opportunities this summer designed to foster connection, meaningful conversation, and a sense of belonging as the congregation embraces its New Year theme of building Kehillah (community).
More than 50 participants from varying generations stood side by side in the Social Hall to mix, knead, and braid challah together.
The group shared stories, laughs, and tips for shaping the perfect loaf – making first-time bakers and newcomers to Temple Sholom feel included and welcomed.

This joyous morning led by Associate Rabbi Gisel Baler celebrated not only the beautiful tradition of baking challah, but also the power of gathering in a sacred space and growing long-lasting relationships; both of which helped set the tone for an inspiring year ahead.
