On Sunday, June 14, 2026. 1:00 – 2:00pm, renowned psychologist and author Dr. Dale Atkins presents two children’s books that celebrate the healing power of nature at a special event at Greenwich Audubon Center.

Her newest release, Dear Deer (Mascot Books; June 2, 2026), is a heartfelt story and timely call to action, encouraging families to help children step away from screens and reconnect with the natural world. Through a shared outdoor adventure, young readers discover lessons in compassion, patience, collaboration, and empathy—while learning to slow down and tune into their senses.
Her debut children’s book, The Turquoise Butterfly (Mascot Books; January 6, 2026), follows a young girl, Victoria, and her grandmother. Woven throughout is the restorative power of nature, with the butterfly serving as a luminous symbol of transformation—helping children navigate loss, embrace change, and find hope in life’s cycles.
