While a beautiful school is being built across the way, the Central Middle School Theater Arts program is thriving on the stage for one final time in the current building.

The CMS Theater Arts department is pleased to present Seussical the Musical on the George Sepe Memorial Stage for three special performances this Friday, March 20 at 7:00pm and Saturday, March 21 at 1:00pm & 6:00pm.

This year’s production is backed by 65 talented cast and crew members and a live pit orchestra – a rarity at the middle school level. The production is supported by staff, musicians and mentors from both the esteemed GPS staff and GHS student body.
The creative team includes CMS teachers Maddy Gale and Danielle Berard as Co-Directors, Nancy Leville as Music Director, parent Producer Tom Casazzone, Bonnie Hann as Set Designer and Julia Maggiola as choreographer. GHS student Oliver Stein designed the lights and the cast and crew would not have survived without the supervision of dedicated parents Rick Baxley, Renee Oliver and Ana Laborde, among others.
Seussical is a fantastical musical blending of Dr. Seuss tales, featuring the Cat in the Hat as the narrator who guides Horton the Elephant to protect a microscopic Whoville and Jojo on a speck of dust, while simultaneously guarding an abandoned egg.

It is a heartwarming story about loyalty, imagination that teaches the message that, “A person’s a person no matter how small.”
