Greenwich Symphony Orchestra Announces Classical Music on Jan 27 and 28

On the weekend of January 27 and 28, Greenwich Symphony Orchestra will present an inspired program of classical music at the Performing Arts Center, 10 Hillside Road, Greenwich.

Music Director Stuart Malina will conduct special guests soloist Maya Anjali Buchanan and the 86 professional musicians who make up the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra.

The program will open with a composition by Connecticut native, Charles Ives. Ives, born in Danbury, graduated from Yale in 1898 and went on to become the first American composer to
be recognized internationally.

The program consists of The Unanswered Question by Charles Ives, Symphony No. 1 by Shostakovich, and Beethoven’s Violin Concerto.

All of this in a two hour concert. Come for the programming, the experience of live music in a magnificent hall, the enlightening remarks by Music Director Stuart Malina, the chance to savor great music, and to share in the rich cultural life of the community.
