Open Arts Alliance is honored to be recognized by Age Well Across Connecticut as one of the state’s “hidden gems” offering “inclusive, accessible, intergenerational” programming that allows people to “thrive at any age.”
Nominated for this distinction by the Wallace Center’s Patricia Bykowski, and the Greenwich Commission on Aging’s Lori Contadino, this fall marks the third year of partnerships between the two organizations.

This spring, Open Arts Alliance collaborated with the Wallace Center for the second annual “Spring Follies”, bringing senior participants (ages 55-102) together through an intergenerational celebration of their unique talents culminating in a public performance in Greenwich Town Hall. OAA also presented the Junior Ensemble Tour this past spring.
This intergenerational program is entirely directed and devised by students creating their own musical revue to tour senior living communities throughout Greenwich, including The Mews and Nathaniel Witherell.
OAA is also thrilled to return to the Wallace Center for another season of “Broadway By The Year” this fall.
Facilitated by John Curtis, Artistic Associate at Open Arts Alliance, and certified wellness coach Donna Spellman, “Broadway By The Year” is an eight-week class exploring some of the most accomplished creators of the great American art form that is the Broadway musical.
This free class is open to all members of the Wallace Center and members of Greenwich over 55 years of age are encouraged to join and enroll.
In the words of Wallace Center Members Frank and Adele Rota: “‘Broadway by the Year’ is fun, engaging and entertaining – learning background about different musicals within the historical context of what was happening in the world…When this class is in session it is the highlight of my week! We also look forward to the Spring Follies which has become a beloved tradition for seniors and the Greenwich community at large.”

“Broadway By the Year” takes place Thursdays from 12:00pm-1:00pm until October 29, and is free to all Wallace Center Members, membership being free to all Greenwich Residents age 55 and up.
