Greenwich Historical Society’s Antiquarius Goes Virtual in the Spirit of the Season

Greenwich Historical Society’s Antiquarius will have a new VIRTUAL look this season and it is bound to delight. Themed ‘Together at Home’, the holiday extravaganza to celebrate the decorative arts, antiques, architecture, and design features treasured classics, including the Holiday House Tour, Holiday Boutique, Greenwich Winter Antiques & Design Show, Festival of Trees and Candlelit Evening Tours of Bush-Holley House. A design workshop presented by the area’s most talented pros on creating unforgettable interiors and warm, inviting home gatherings is an exciting new addition.

“Our virtual format is designed to keep the health of patrons a top priority, while still providing the same level of excellence our patrons have come to expect from this beloved and highly anticipated holiday event,” says Debra Mecky, executive director and CEO of the Historical Society.  “Together at Home” shines a spotlight on the enormous talents of local retailers, decorators and entertainers who are partnering with us to provide ideas on how to create warm, comfortable, and festive homes this season. ANTIQUARIUS 2020 HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE
NOVEMNBER 27 – DECEMBER 6
A carefully curated group of local retailers and designers kick-start the festivities in our virtual holiday boutique where there will be something for everyone, from children’s wear to chic accessories, jewelry, and specialty foods. A portion of the proceeds benefit Historical Society arts and education programs.

GREENWICH WINTER ANTIQUES & DESIGN SHOW
DECEMBER 2- 6
Enjoy a virtual take on our beloved Winter Antiques & Design Show where our partner, InCollect will present over 40 world-class dealers with a vibrant collection of antiques, modern furniture, fine art, and jewelry.  Patrons will enjoy early access on December 1st.

holiday Entertaining workshop with eddie ross and sue scully
DECEMBER 2 AT 6:30 PM
Culled from years of experience decorating and entertaining in Greenwich, Eddie Ross and Susan Scully will regale participants with their clever insights on how to tackle every aspect of entertaining, including how to make perfect cocktails, flower arrangements, tablescapes, gift wrapping and safe, delicious buffets in this Zoom workshop.

Patrons ($500+) will enjoy home delivery of an Eddie Ross-inspired Antiquarius floral arrangement on Friday, December 4. 

VIRTUAL holiday HOUSE TOURS
DECEMBER 3  Presented by Quintessence
Greenwich-based interior designers Charlotte Barnes, Heather Georges and Patrick Mele will provide exclusive tours of fabulously decorated homes. Experience their creative inspiration and thoughts about creating spaces for gathering together at home in warm comfortable environments during the holidays. In keeping with a long-standing Antiquarius tradition. Ticket holders have the option to enjoy a festive luncheon the day of the tour at select Greenwich restaurants.

DECEMBER 4 AT 11AM
DJ Carey of Connecticut Cottages & Gardens magazine moderates an engaging discussion with celebrated pros, architect Doug VanderHorn, landscape designer James Doyle, and interior designer Amy Aidinis Hirsch in a live Zoom discussion.

FESTIVAL OF TABLETOP TREES
NOVEMBER 19 – DECEMBER 6
Our second annual Festival of Tabletop Trees celebrates the talents of local retailers, designers and organizations who will help make our homes festive sanctuaries during the holidays. Purchase or bid on a selection of 25 beautifully decorated trees via an online auction. Trees will be on display in our airy, award-winning new museum lobby, free for visitors to peruse safely throughout the day.  

CANDLELIT EVENING TOURS

DECEMBER 2-4 FROM 4-7PM
Enjoy our c1730 Bush Holley House festively decorated for the holidays. Intimate docent-led tours for up to four people per tour are offered for this beloved family tradition. Treats will be served. Space is limited; advance reservations are required.

The Museum Store will be open to guests for shopping and refreshments.
