Born in Greenwich, Connor Sobieri is a saxophonist, composer, and bandleader whose music draws from the realms of Jazz, R&B, and Rock.
Having graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies in May of 2025, Sobieri has had the opportunity to perform alongside such names as Alan Ferber, Melissa Aldana, Ryoma Takenaga, and Linda May Han Oh at prestigious venues such as Dizzy’s Club, Birdland, The Appel Room, NuBlu and has toured and recorded internationally.
Now based in Brooklyn, NY, he works as a bandleader and sideman, writing music for his genre bending “Connor Sobieri Group,” and playing locally in the tri-state area with a variety of groups.
Sobieri has played saxophone for 12 years, originally starting out by playing in Greenwich Public Schools’ music program. Since moving to New York in 2021, he has studied with prominent NYC musicians such as, Dave Pietro, Tivon Pennicott, Chris Potter, Remy LeBoeuf, Alan Ferber, and Michael Attias among others.
He is also a winner of the 2025 John Deak First Music Competition, which will culminate with a performance at Dizzy’s Club by the NYYS Jazz Ensemble lead by GRAMMY-winning saxophonist Michael Thomas.
With two singles, “Homebase” and “It’s You” released to Spotify to date in collaboration with Julen Rodriguez, Sobieri is gearing up for the release of his debut single as a leader “Love Song,” on Oct 8.
