Free Music Fridays Continues on Aug 12 with Billy & the Shoemen

This Friday, August 12, Billy and the Shoemen will perform 12:00 Noon – 1:00 pm in Greenwich Common Park on Greenwich Avenue

Free Music Fridays continues to provide outdoor live music, free of charge, thanks to the generosity of their sponsors, and is open to the public every Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at Greenwich Common on Greenwich Avenue.

Produced by Greenwich Forward, Re-Imagine Greenwich, and the Town of Greenwich Parks & Recreation, Free Music Fridays features local artists with different performers every week, appealing to a variety of musical tastes. This Friday, grab a sandwich or a salad, sit outdoors in the heart of Greenwich Avenue, and listen to the acoustic sounds of Billy and the Shoemen.

Billy and the Shoemen was formed in 2015 and covers songs from classic rock and the early R&B/Soul era. They like to include songs you know but haven’t heard in a while, or songs that you would never expect to hear from an acoustic band. Billy and the Shoemen includes Billy Foster (lead vocals), Bill Geoghegan (guitar/lead vocals), Ray Simonelli (guitar, lead vocals), and Jim McGrath (flute and percussion).

Greenwich Forward, a 501c3, is dedicated to promoting, funding and advising non-profits and other community organizations within the Town of Greenwich.
