Fairfield County Antique and Design, together with Isabella Garrucho Fine Art, are pleased to announce its newest exhibit featuring works of photographer Bert Stern.

On Thursday, March 31, 2016, the cocktail reception for “In Bed with Marilyn,” will be co-hosted by Hästens.

Additional imagery of Marilyn Monroe will be at 21-23 E. Putnam Ave in Greenwich, where Hästens, the ultimate in luxury bedding, is introducing their spring collection, complimented by Fairfield Co. Antique and Design Iconic furnishings.

Bert Stern conceived of his ultimate photographic romance with a vivacious woman on his flight to Rome in the spring of 1962. Stern spent three sessions with Marilyn Monroe shooting for Vogue Magazine in Los Angeles Hotel Bel-Air in late June 1962, six weeks before the great star’s death. These sessions produced extraordinarily beautiful and unique images of Marilyn, known famously as “The Last Sitting.”

Additional images of Audrey Hepburn, Gary Cooper, “Lolita” and other stars of the time are featured in this exhibit. Money, power, and celebrity have made Stern almost as much of an icon as the famous faces he has photographed. Stern’s career exemplifies the concept of the commercial photographer as a cultural hero. He has become the prototype of the fashion photographer as the embodiment of glamour.

This event features photography presented by Isabella Garrucho Fine art, furnishings by Fairfield County Antique and Design, hosted by Hästens, featuring their new spring line.
