Greenwich Boy Hit by Car after Jaywalking on East Putnam with His Mother

An 11-year-old Greenwich boy was hit by a car while crossing East Putnam Ave with his mother just before 7:00pm on Thursday, Dec. 10.

A witness related to Greenwich Police that she saw two shadows of the pedestrians bolt across the East Putnam Ave near the intersection with Sound Beach Ave, when all of a sudden a 2002 Toyota, traveling east on East Putnam Ave, struck one of the pedestrians.

According to police, the mother and son were crossing traffic against the light, and were dressed in dark clothes.

The boy, who suffered significant, but not life threatening injuries, including injuries to his leg, was taken to Stamford Hospital. The driver was not charged.
