Greenwich Police Scholarship Fund Announces Milestone Gala on Oct 17 at Riverside Yacht Club

The Greenwich Police Department Scholarship Fund will commemorate a remarkable milestone this fall with the 130th Anniversary Greenwich Policeman’s Ball, taking place Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 6:30pm at the Riverside Yacht Club.

The black-tie evening will celebrate 130 years of service, dedication, and commitment by the Greenwich Police Department while raising critical funds for the Greenwich Police Department Scholarship Fund, which supports the educational goals of deserving students of sworn Greenwich Police Officers.

The milestone gala will be co-chaired by Stephanie Dunn Ashley and Joe Kelly and is expected to bring together community leaders, residents, law enforcement supporters, and longtime friends of the department for an unforgettable evening honoring the department’s enduring legacy and impact.

“Reaching 130 years is an extraordinary milestone for the Greenwich Police Department and our entire community,” said Jim Heavey, Greenwich Chief of Police. “This celebration is about honoring the generations of officers who have served Greenwich with integrity and professionalism, while also investing in the next generation through scholarships that help students pursue their dreams.”

The Greenwich Policeman’s Ball has served as both a celebration of service and an important fundraising event for the Scholarship Fund, which provides educational assistance to students pursuing higher education opportunities.

“This event represents the deep connection between the Greenwich Police Department and the community it serves,” said co-chair Joe Kelly. “The Scholarship Fund allows us to create meaningful opportunities for young people while also recognizing the dedication and sacrifices made by members of the department over the past 130 years.”

Co-chair Stephanie Dunn Ashley said the evening will blend tradition, community spirit, and celebration.

“We are incredibly proud to help lead this special anniversary event,” said Stephanie Dunn Ashley. “The Greenwich Policeman’s Ball is more than a gala; it is a tribute to service, community partnership, and the future of the students who benefit from these scholarships. We look forward to bringing the community together for what promises to be a truly memorable evening.”

The event will feature dinner, dancing, special tributes, and celebratory moments recognizing the Department’s rich history and longstanding contributions to Greenwich.

Guests are encouraged to save the date and join in celebrating this historic anniversary while supporting the mission of the Greenwich Police Department Scholarship Fund.
