Robert Krasnor, 84

Robert Krasnor, beloved husband, father, grandfather, sailor, and lifelong creator, died peacefully on March 11, 2026. Born in Brooklyn in 1941, Bob’s curiosity and adventurous spirit shaped his life. He graduated from Erasmus Hall High School and NYU Stern School of Business.

For many years Bob was a management consultant in New York and his work focused on creating teams in advertising agencies for greater productivity.  Bob founded Tradeshare, a company operating in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Working within the Navy Yard’s free-trade zone allowed him to import sugar and mix it with iced tea flavorings for such companies as 4C and Tetley thereby avoiding the heavy tariffs normally imposed on sugar alone.

Bob married Lucy Bierman in 1970.  Bob and Lucy first lived in New York City and in 1973 they moved to Riverside, Connecticut, where they raised their family.

Lucy worked in the mortgage business, helping homeowners obtain financing. In 1994 Bob started Strategy Mortgage Corp. and in 1996 Lucy joined him . Together they built the company and the business expanded rapidly in the early 2000s when their son, Bill and his wife Jennifer, joined the company.  Today Bill is President and runs the company.

Bob was a maker at heart—an artist and craftsman who loved creating things with his hands. He enjoyed music and took great joy in the children and dogs in his life. An avid sailor, he was active at the Old Greenwich Yacht Club and spent many happy days on the water.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lucy, his son, Bill, and daughter-in-law Jennifer; and his daughter, Emily Krasnor. He was the proud grandfather of Lila Jane and Wyatt, children of Emily, and Sarah and Evan, children of Bill.

Those who knew Bob will remember his curiosity, his creativity, and the quiet joy he took in building things—whether a business, a boat project, or a life with the people he loved.
