Central Middle School December Construction Update

Greenwich Public Schools issued an update on the construction of the new 135,000 square foot Central Middle School.

The CMS campus is 21 acres, which allows for the new building to be constructed adjacent to the original 1958 structure, in a two-phase project. The project involves demolition of the existing building once the new building is completed.

The new school is designed for 660 students in approximately 125,000 gross sq ft in a two-story structure, with the potential for flexibility to serve up to 720 students. The estimated cost of the project is $112 million. The state is expected to provide about 20% in reimbursement. The project is anticipated to be completed on time in August 2026.
