UPDATE: CT State Police Are Looking for a Vehicle Involved in I95 Pedestrian Fatality

Update 3:30pm: CT State Police released an accident information summary saying, Cristhian Eduardo Carvajal Saldana, 31, of White Plains, New York, was checking on his vehicle on I95 southbound about a half-mile from Exit 3 in Greenwich around 4:30 am Sunday when he was hit and fatally injured.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian was in the left lane when the vehicle approached, struck the pedestrian, continued southbound, evading the scene.

Troopers were already en route to assist with the hazardously disabled vehicle when the driver was struck by a motor vehicle in the roadway.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. A next-of-kin notification was subsequently made. The suspect vehicle sustained minor damage to include a detached driver side mirror housing, a detached front driver side bumper component, and a detached front driver side wheel trim. Evidentiary vehicle debris located at the scene revealed Vehicle #1 is consistent with a silver or gray Ford Transit Van, ranging in model years of 2015 to 2018.

Original story: CT State Police are looking for a vehicle that fled the scene after a pedestrian crash on I95 south near exit 4 in Cos Cob on Sunday.

The State Police Crash and Reconstruction Squad responded to the scene and reports indicated there were serious injuries to the pedestrian.  The vehicle that hit the pedestrian fled the scene before officials arrived.

The area of exit 4 in Cos Cob was closed for several hours but has since reopened.

The vehicle is described as a silver or gray 2015-2018 Ford Transit Van with possible damage to its left side.
