Patrick McCann, the President of the Mary Bush Society of the Children of the American Revolution (CAR), joined First Selectman Fred Camillo after he signed a proclamation designating this week as Constitution Week.

McCann, a ninth grader from Greenwich Country Day School, was handed the proclamation in person. Last week marked a nationwide celebration of the 237th anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America, which was approved Sept. 17, 1787.
The Children of the American Revolution is the oldest and largest national patriotic organization that promotes love of country, duty to the community, American History, government studies, appreciation of veterans, and conservation.
The local group is having a membership drive which is open to students under 22 years of age whose ancestry traces back to a patriot or person who provided aid during the American Revolution.
Genealogical help will be given even if the student is not sure whether they qualify and all are welcome to join the local group by contacting [email protected].
