The town is monitoring a potential storm for Sunday night and the town is urging residents to be prepared.

A high wind and coastal storm watch has been issued for Greenwich and the surrounding area. There is a strong likelihood of heavy rain, strong winds and possible coastal and river flooding Sunday into Monday.
The current forecast projects heavy rain and potential flooding in the Greenwich area Sunday night into Monday. There is the potential for two to three inches of rain across Greenwich with strong winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour.
Along the coast, those gusts could even get as strong as 50 to 60 miles per hour and could potentially cause tree damage and power outages.
Greenwich’s Emergency Management Team will continue to monitor the potential storm through the weekend and residents should take precaution. Monitor the forecast and be prepared for potential flooding and/or power outages.
Eversource Energy has activated its Emergency Response Plan and has assured the Town of Greenwich that it will have additional teams around the State this weekend.
Greenwich will utilize its Emergency Alerts system if there is a significant weather event or a large-scale emergency. Residents can sign up for this at www.greenwichalerts.org and the Town of Greenwich will provide updates if needed through the course of the weekend.
