Andrews: Constituents With Concerns Are Not Complainers or Trolls

Submitted by Jennifer Andrews, Greenwich

Imagine the laugh I had when reading the title of this email from the “Fred for First campaign”:

“listens to all citizens, regardless of their political affiliation”

The irony, after being called a “constant complainer,” and referred to as an internet troll in response to questions and concerns raised as a constituent on social media:

My experience, and the experience of many others, has been the exact opposite of what his campaign email purports.

Fred Camillo reacts with hostility and defensiveness if his actions are questioned.

After reading the text message exchanges between Mr. Camillo and Mr. Wetmore, the Town Attorney, during “signgate,” my concerns about Mr. Camillo and his leadership style were validated.

Did I think putting those signs up was the right thing to do?  No, but the message was spot on.

Did the architect of those signs have a right to do so within his right to freedom of speech?   100 percent!

Mr. Wetmore is looking more and more like Mr. Camillo’s lapdog.

His recent MI opinion regarding the school building projects should be examined.  Is this another example of “The Irish Way” Mr. Wetmore refers to in those text messages?

The impression Mr. Camillo has left me, is that he runs his campaign and town business with cronyism and blunt force.  He claims to be bi-partisan, but that is only as long as you agree with him.

It’s time for a change, so that all sides can work together and get to work, rather than creating a larger divide.  Join me in voting for Laura Erickson on election day.
