Town Announces Two Road Closures for Emergency Tree Removals

Two roads will be temporarily closed for one day this week to allow for emergency tree removals by the Town of Greenwich.

On Wednesday, July 26, Sheephill Road will be closed from Palmers Hill Road to Old Orchard Road from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. A large, dead elm tree will be removed from the area and the road will be reopened once the work is complete. Traffic will be diverted down Old Orchard Road.

On Thursday, July 27, Guinea Road will be closed from its intersection with Stanwich Road to its intersection with Juniper Hill from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Several dead ash and oak trees will be removed from this area and the road will be reopened once the work is complete. Traffic will be diverted down Tod Lane.

Both removals are dependent on the weather and updates will be made if the schedule has to be changed for any reason.

Please plan ahead and avoid these areas if you can.

Please be patient with the detours that will be in place.
