Run Across America is a yearly activity run by Silke Oellrich, North Mianus School PTA VP Health and Wellness. This year it took place during the week of October 5-9, with the 9th postponed due to rain to Oct. 16th.

At recess, encouraged by the parents and teachers, children voluntarily exercised by running and waking laps; with a goal of covering up to a mile each day.  We’re headed to San Francisco!

The program was designed by a Physical Education teacher in Connecticut to create an awareness of the benefits of living a physical active lifestyle and increase the number of students passing the cardiovascular endurance (1 mile run) standard on the Connecticut State Physical Fitness Assessment.
