Greenwich Public Schools Interim Superintendent Ralph Mayo has announced the appointment of Richard (Rick) Piotrzkowski as Greenwich High School’s Interim Headmaster, effective August 20, 2018.
Mr. Piotzkowski will fill in for Dr. Chris Winters who is leaving his position as Headmaster, which he has held for 11 yeas, to become the head of the new GCDS High School.
Mr. Piotrzkowski has been with Greenwich High School since 1984 serving as chemistry teacher and science program administrator prior to his appointment as Assistant Headmaster in 2004.
In his current role, he oversees the daily operations of the 2700-student school, including scheduling, budgeting, the assessment system, implementation of the Digital Learning Environment, the UCONN Early College Experience program, and the student data and communication management systems.
“I am extremely excited about leading one of the finest educational institutions in the country,” Piotrzkowski said in a statement released by the District Friday afternoon. “Greenwich High School will continue to be a collaborative community of learning dedicated to academic excellence, personal integrity, and interpersonal responsibility. I look forward to working collaboratively with students, staff, parents, PTA, and the Greenwich community in pursuit of the Vision of the Graduate. Go Cardinals!!”
