On June 12, the students of Hamilton Avenue School approached the conclusion of their school year with a lively and memorable awards assembly honoring students whose demonstration of the district norms was exemplary: Be Here, Be Safe, Be Honest, Care for Self and Others, and Let Go and Move On, as well as honoring students with perfect attendance for this marking period.

The highlight of the morning was a surprised and spirited finale in which principal Diane Chiappetta-Fox, joined by vice principal Annamaria Simonelli and KidTalk counselor Mariana Martins, who made good on a promise to students by getting slimed.
The students’ unofficial preliminary test results suggest that the school will collectively meet and exceed the school’s goals. This challenge was set by Ms Chiappetta-Fox earlier in the year, and the sliming, carried out by special guests, brought cheers and laughter from the entire school community.
The school administrators were slimed by five beloved teachers who will retire after the end of the school year: Bernadette DiSanto, Darlene Angotto, Gloria Sprigg, Hillary Hohmeister and Angela Lucas. They were aided by the students who have achieved perfect attendance for the entire school year.

The school administrators were slimed by five beloved teachers who will retire after the end of the school year: Bernadette DiSanto, Darlene Angotto, Gloria Sprigg, Hillary Hohmeister and Angela Lucas.
They were aided by the students who have achieved perfect attendance for the entire school year.
Following the assembly, students gathered outside for the annual fifth-grade tug-of-war and ended the celebration with a school-wide photo, capturing the enthusiasm and unity of the day.
The event marked a fitting end to a successful year, celebrating the achievements and dedication of both students and staff, and highlighting the strong sense of community that defines Hamilton Avenue School.
