Greenwich Students Graduate from University of Rhode Island

At the University of Rhode Island’s 130th Commencement took place on Saturday and Sunday, May 21-22, 2016. About 3,300 undergraduate and 700 graduate degrees were awarded.

Two Greenwich students received degrees this May from University of Rhode Island:

  • Allie Herrera received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Spanish, Nutrition. She graduated Magna Cum Laude.
  • Matt William DeFruscio received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Students who received the honor summa cum laude graduated with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.7. Students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.50. Students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.3.

The University of Rhode Island’s pioneering research extends the University’s influence well beyond its coastal borders, while its unique interdisciplinary courses provide about 17,000 undergraduate and graduate students with global opportunities in an intimate environment. In May 2016, about 3,300 undergraduate and 700 graduate degrees were awarded. The University now has about 120,000 alumni worldwide.
