33 GHS Seniors Are Commended Merit Scholars

On Wednesday Greenwich Schools announced that 33 Greenwich High School seniors are Commended Students in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Commended Students are recognized for the exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for program entry.

Approximately 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2022 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2022 competition by taking the 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).”

“These seniors have worked extremely hard during their time at Greenwich High School,” Principal Ralph Mayo said in a release. “To be recognized on a national level is a wonderful honor. Each of these Cardinals are very talented and deserving of this recognition.”

The 33 students will be recognized by the Board of Education at its January 20 Business meeting.
