Woman Charged with Stealing Expensive Scarf from Richards

Marlene Polansky, 68, of 8 Stonehenge Rd in Weston was arrested on Jan. 15 at about 8:00pm and charged by Greenwich Police with Larceny 5th degree for an incident that happened three years earlier at Richards on Greenwich Ave.

According to Greenwich Police Lt. Kraig Gray, Polansky, “known to the company,” was discovered “secreting an item,” a scarf worth several hundred dollars, when management conducted an inventory and review of store surveillance footage.

The alleged Larceny took place on Nov. 16, 2013.

On Jan 15, officers traveled to Fairfield to pick up Mrs. Polansky after Fairfield Police Department sent word that they were holding her on the Greenwich warrant. She was charged for Larceny 5, issued a bond of $1,000, which she was able to post.

Mrs. Polansky was assigned a court date in Stamford Superior Court on Jan. 22, 2106.
