Woman Charged for Years Long Financial Crime against Greenwich Non-Profit

Greenwich Police have arrested a Brookfield woman accused of a financial crime involving embezzling funds from a back country non profit organization.

According to Greenwich Police Lt Martin O’Reilly Naomi Gauruder, 44, turned herself in at Greenwich Police headquarters on Tuesday on an outstanding arrest warrant.

According to Lt Martin O’Reilly, the alleged embezzlement stemmed back to 2008, and was reported to Greenwich Police in 2018.

O’Reilly referred to amount of money allegedly embezzled as substantial.

Ms Gauruder was charged with Larceny first degree.

Her court set bond was set at $250,000 and she has a date in Stamford Superior Court on May 11, 2022.

She was able to post her bond and was released.
