On Sunday around 4:30am two Stamford residents were arrested after Police spotted them loitering around a mailbox on Connecticut Avenue in central Greenwich.
Police say when the suspects observed police officers they entered a running car, pulled into a driveway and remained inside the car.
Police learned the car was registered to a neighboring town, at which time they conducted an investigation into the suspicious activity.
An open manila envelope was spotted in plain view of the vehicle’s back seat.
Investigation revealed the envelope did not belong to the suspects in the car and that they had removed it from a residential mailbox.
Police arrested Destiny Angel Rodriguez, 19, of Bedford Street in Stamford and Luisa Rivera, 20, of Seaton Rd in Stamford. They were each charged with Larceny 6 and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 6.
They were both released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on May 11, 2020.
