Trumbull Man Faces Sexual Assault Charges in Greenwich, Victim under 16

Greenwich Police arrested a Trumbull man this week on for incidents stemming back to February 2021.

Police say Eugene Chidi Izuazu, 29, was stopped by Fairfield Police who conducted a motor vehicle stop on two active GPD warrants for Izuazu and turned him over to GPD.

One incident in which he allegedly stole personal checks belonging to another person, assumed their identity and altered the original contents of the check.

Police say the checks valued at about $1,000.

For this incident he was charged with Larceny 2, Larceny 6, Identity Theft 3, and Criminal Impersonation.

Police say that in the second incident Izuazu engaged in inappropriate sexual acts in front of a juvenile under the age of 16.

Additionally police say Izuazu made other inappropriate advances toward another victim, and had unlawfully restrained the victim’s movements. Police say he also assumed the identity of another person while committing these crimes.

Izuazu was charged with Criminal Impersonation, Disorderly Conduct, Obscenity, two counts of Sexual Assault 3, two counts of Sexual Assault 4/Victim under 16 and two counts of Unlawful Restraint 2.

For this incident his bond was set at $100,000.

His bond was set at $50,000. He remained in GPD custody pending arraignment.

He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on June 24, 2022.
