Trio of Suspects Face Dozens of Charges for Identity Theft, Forgery, Criminal Impersonation

On July 22 Greenwich Police plainclothes officers observed behavior consistent with criminal activity on Greenwich Avenue.

Three suspects were successfully detained and identified by investigators.

An on scene investigation revealed the suspects – Jerry Gelle, 31, Daquan Anthony West, 31,  Kyron Baptiste Baptiste, 31, all of of Brooklyn, NY, conspired to utilize a stolen credit card at Hermes.

There were able to make a successful purchase for $1,786,68, then attempted two transactions for $2,024.72 that were declined.  Subsequently, a search of their vehicle revealed 11 stolen US Treasury checks totaling $31.374.10, a stolen Chase check bearing the victim’s personal identifying information for $153,135, multiple pieces of stolen mail, multiple credit/debit cards bearing different names, and a counterfeit Ohio driver’s license bearing the picture of the co-conspirator.

The US Postal Inspection Services responded to Greenwich Police Dept Detention and issued a Federal Appearance Ticket to the three arrestees.

His bond was set at $100,000 which he was able to post and he was released.

He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Aug 6, 2025.
